退休生活不留白

After retirement, I live my life in a slow pace.

退休後 我過著慢步調的生活

I get used to being leisurely dressed. Nowhere can I find my formal attire.

我習慣休閒穿著 正式服裝已經找不到了

Nobody forces me to do anything.  I don’t get up until I want to.

沒有人強迫我做任何事  我可以睡覺到自然醒

There are never-ending regular get-togethers and irregular invitations.

我有數不完的定期聚會和不定期的邀約

I learn what I am interested in.

我學習有興趣的事物

With seven Sundays in a week, I think there is no better time to be happy than now.

一星期有七個週日 我想沒有比現在更快樂的時間了

My former co-worker Ms. Cui called me,

saying that she would attend a seminar in Europe

老同事小崔來電說她要去歐洲參加研習會議

and asking me if I could work as a substitute teacher to replace her.

並問我是否可以代課

I was in a dilemma.

我陷入兩難

The main reason was that I doubted if I could be competent at the teaching job.

主要原因是我懷疑自己能否勝任教職

There seemed to be no English in my life over these three years.

三年來我的生活裡似乎沒有英文

Besides, I’m old enough to be the grandma of the students.

再說 我的年紀已足以做學生的ㄚ嬷了

Most importantly, the teaching materials are totally different.

As a good friend, I just couldn’t say “No”.

身為好友 我又無法說不

What I can do is manage to persuade myself.

能做的就是設法說服自己

Now I feel a little uneasy and perturbed.

現在我開始有些忐忑不安了
